ABOUT ME
I am a recent PhD in Applied Economics from Northeastern University. I am interested in using data driven econometric models to understand causality and simulate predictions. My recent work includes research in the airline and health care industries. When I am not thinking about statistical significance, functional forms or endogenous regressors, I practice photography.

RESEARCH
Exogenous changes in entry barrier conditions faced by firms allows for an analysis of their impact on competition and market structure. This paper studies how the imposition of gate restrictions and perimeter rules impact prices and welfare in airline markets.
Retrospective merger analysis of the Southwest-AirTran merger in this paper shows that prices increased in several markets, and consumer surplus decreased and airline profits increased in overlapping markets.
Health insurance provision can significantly influence risk taking behavior, leading to a not significant change in preventive care usage. This idea is empirically investigated using an RDD approach.
WORK EXPERIENCE
LECTURER AND RECITATION LEADER, NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY
I have taught recitation sessions for the undergraduate level Principles of Microeconomics class for several semesters. During the summer of 2017, I was also the primary instructor for the class.
SUMMER ASSOCIATE, ANALYSIS GROUP
During the summer of 2016, I worked at Analysis Group as a Summer Associate. I was part of a team tasked with calculating market shares for a merger case. I also assisted in compiling the expert report for the case.
TEACHING ASSISTANT, NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY
I have worked as a teaching assistant for the department of Economics at Northeastern University for several semesters. Some advanced classes in which I was the TA include Graduate level Econometrics, Advanced Macroeconomics and Graduate level Microeconomics.
SYSTEMS ASSOCIATE, DORY VENTURES LLC
I worked as a systems associate for Dory Ventures, a small private equity firm based in Norwalk, CT. I worked with all elements of the firm to analyze, diagnose and repair business analytics, inventory planning, warehousing and supply chain management systems.
